1. Apply for affiliate programs

  • Hunt for the best affiliate programs and networks suitable for our brands
  • Negotiate for the best commissions where possible
  • Inform the management before signing a deal with any affiliate partners

2. Create an Affiliate Account

  • Once the affiliate application is approved, create an account with them and add all the necessary details.
  • Consult management for company payment and tax details. 
  • Once all is done in this section, copy the link of the affiliate URL to this spreadsheet. Indicate the status of each and commission percentages so that the management can view them anytime. 

3. Insert accepted affiliate links in articles

  • Go through every article written, and insert affiliate links, where possible. All these should be done before an article is published but in the “Approved” status. 
  • You can suggest certain information to be added by writers that will make link insertion easy. This can be a sentence or a paragraph (Max).
  • Once the article is published, liaise with management, and copy the URL on this spreadsheet for follow-up and future updates.

4. Keep in touch with affiliate partners

Initiate, reply, and engage our affiliate partners where and when necessary. It's your role to reply to all emails and send emails to the partners if need be. Keep the communication on and inform management if any intervention is required. Keep renegotiations alive but ask management before such high lever communications are initiated. 

5. Update outdated links

  • Check published articles with affiliate links, and update them if need be. Eg., amazon products are out of stock, or remove links if no longer affiliated with certain partners
  • Check these articles monthly to ensure no broken links. 

 Finally, keep the management up to date with anything that they should know concerning the monetization department. Seek approvals on matters that need their decision-making.
